Dbox In Ireland

Hi folks,

Am in dublin on ntl with only 50 channels, yesterday I updated with the new nagraroms. I then tried flashing with Cryo_Sportster_Pro_1.02_Ultra1 which got me 150 channels but the image on channels were all dark blue. Tried flasing with commando-925-x1 image which seems to have rendered the dbox useless. There are no channels and I cant access any of the dbox menu options so am unable to flash as a result. Any ideas???

 

are you sure you have a 1 chip box pop open the cover and have a look if ita a 2 you need to reflash with image flash assistant with a 2 chip image

I wonder if someone can please please help me.
I have a DBOX with Sportster Image.
Im using C*orus MMDS however i cannot get any channels.
Can somone please advise on what step i should take to get this to work on C*orus MMDS.

The Dbox wont work on MMDS you will need to get a box like The box T or Eurovox TX to get up and running

 

oggnogg hows it going man! my mate bought a nokia dbox2 on ebay when it arrived he came round mine its different to mine its a nokia dbox2 SN where as mine is a nokia dbox2 CN can you tell me what the difference is as we can get the channels on hs one!

 

im guessing SN is for satelite nd CN is for cable, could the SN one be converted to a CN or could it be used on a MMDS signal?

Will the DBox not work with any MMDS or is it just Chorus MMDS?
A mate recently bought a Box and he's on NTL MMDS in North Dublin so I was hoping I could set it up for him. Are we snookered?

No, as OggNogg says you need the Eurovox Max T or Starview T, make sure it is a T box that you get or it won't work either

 

A Dbox will work on NT* MMDS as this is a cable service.Only Chor** use true MMDS. There are four scenarios here in Ireland.
1.NTL Dublin/Galway etc is cable and will work with a cable box...
2.Chorus cable is cable and will work with a C tuner
3.NTL MMDS is MMDS downconverted to cable and will work with a C tuner
4.Chorus MMDs is Terrestrial and will work with a T Tuner..

A "C" tuner can be a DBox,Dreambox,Eurovox,Starview,Replay and so on. A "T" tuner limits u slightly.I have found that the Dreambox 600PVR with a T Tuner is the best option....

Thanks for you reply. Has anyone a functioning DBox on NT* MMDS in North Dublin? If yes, what image are you using?
How are the coax cables set up? Do you need a Y-splitter to send a coax from the MMDS box to the DBox?
Do I need to edit the cable.xml file to increase the frequency range for the channel scan? (I think I read that somewhere) If yes, what are the required frequencies? I'd REALLY appreciate if someone could PM me the XML files.
My buddy's on a working Sportster v1.7 (a copy of my image, which works fine for standard cable in Dublin city).
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Have a faulty Nokia DBox2, cant get the damn thing to boot up fully. Anyone looking to buy one for spares/try to fix it, etc?

Try to flash a new image via IFA.

Hello everyone,

I have problem with my segam dbox 1x basically i need to know if anyone else is having same problem as me and how to solve it.

My box is working but channels like skysports, e4 etc are gone they not coming on i have blade quad 1x on and still having this problem.

If anybody knows how to fix this it would be most appreciated.

 

How long you getting this problem have you updated it with the new marga roms to auto update

 

hey oggnogg my mate has a nokia dbox2 S/N this is a sat reciever one not the cable version i imagine is this box any use at all in ireland or is he better off selling it?
