    No luck :)
The signal booster seems to be the last resource, I may give it a try.

Tried the booster. I must reckon there has been some improvement but it is still not enough to get a good image. So it looks like the problem is along those lines.

    Setanta xtra1
    BER: 26214
SNR: moving between 49000 and 50000 aprox.
    SIG: 25443 (31354 with booster)

    Setanta xtra2
    BER: 26214
SNR: moving between 49000 and 50000 aprox.
    SIG: 25700 (31354 with booster)

    NASN
    BER: 26214
SNR: moving between 49000 and 50000 aprox.
    SIG: 26471 (31354 with booster)

Checked other channels that are working ok and the SIG is near 30,000 (same as here), but the SNR is always more than 55,000 and BER generally zero.

Do you know if there is any way to push the BER down and SNR up?
    Thanks,

Make sure booster is only boosting the dbox if that doesnt work try taking any splitters out and have the main cable feed going directly into dbox, try this last one with and without the booster.

Hi Wiz, a couple of tests here:

I've tried a bruteforce scan for uk (instead off 6887) and helped a lot. Currently I am getting all the channels (did a random test) but Setanta 2. Even those that I was getting already have dropped their BER levels down to zero (i.e. RTE). This is either with or without the booster. Signal levels vary but quality of image is the same.

I am wondering at the moment if Setanta 2 are actually broadcasting as I get a black screen, although according the the EMU they are showing a football match.

Have also tried directly connecting directly without splitters, but this just added some BER to the signal.

Can you see the match in Setanta 2? If the answer is no, I am sorted. Otherwise, will keep investigating. Thanks,

    No problem mate,
I presumed you had already done all the scans otherwise would have got you sorted a lot quicker.
Anyway good luck and enjoy :)

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to dboxes. I bought a plug'n'play dbox from e-bay. Hooked it up to the NTL box, threw in the NTL card and did a scan. NOTHING. Keep getting an error message. Any help would be appreciated. I haven't a clue about tech stuff.

Thanks, starting to get some where. Only problems are I'm only getting 54 channels mostly bogey ones. Also all the movie channels have lines going down through them. Any further help would be appreciated.

Just a quick post to thank everybody that posted to help me with my DBox!!!! I loaded commando 6 onto it on Friday and it didn’t work so I brought it to a relation of mines house around the corner and it worked perfect there so I bought a signal booster yesterday and plugged it in and hey presto…. All the channels!! bit jumpy to start with but seems perfect now... :)
