Dbox In Ireland

I bought it as it had a UK NEUTRINO image preinstalled.

Where do i get another image from (Commando 7 seems to be suggested).

I get BRUTEFORCE UK as an option when scanning, as well as two other options.

As I said it seems to detect the channels (52 TV) and I can see the City Channel and other FTA.

Have DBox2 , Sportster 1.7, searched web and got cables.xml which includes NTL Dublin, set Sevice scan to overwrite bouquet,fast scan and manual scan set to off, for both, selected suitable cable provider and then started scan, 14 transponders found 142 stations and fingers crossed am up and running. Would a proper scan not create a services.xml if cables.xml includes your cable provider

 

A scan update the services.xml or create a new one if there is no file included in the image.

 

If the emulators evocamd or mgcamd or newcamd are missing the image is not fully UK modded.
The emulators or emus in short have to do the descrambling job.

 

Does cables.xml have to include appropriate cable provider and settings for chosen provider to work?. I selected overwrite bouquet, fast scan and manual scan both set to off and then started scan

 

A scan with the wrong provider cannot find channels.
If you select leave current bouquets all channels survive which are not found from the scan.
If you select update bouquets all channels will be removed which are not found from the scan.
Fast scan disable a defined network scan in the cables.xml.

 

Anyone point me in the right direction to locate the image I require?

READING THIS FORUM AND THE INFO IS GREAT EVEN THOUGH WHAT I NEED SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN EDITED !!!!

I HAVE A DREAMBOX 500C AND I CONNECT TO NTL HERE IN DUBLIN THE CAM IS MGMcan1.0011pa or something and the image is gemini but when i scan even thought it picks up the channels i only get a picture for rte 2 and setanta ireland, i dont even get rte 1 or the bbc channels, i feel like i am doing something very basic wrongly.

any suggestions would be gratefully recieved, perhaps a suggestion of where i can download a new image complete with the cam,

You have to install keys and rom files if you don't use a preconfigured image.

Got it working, by downloading and flashing the image from the linked website on this post.

Did anyone manage to get a Dbox 2 working in Meath with Chorus cable? I'm living in Ashbourne and when i scan i get about 2 transponders. I've got the latest sportster image. Do i need to flash a new image?

 

When you say the latest sportster image, is it definitely a modded image or one that was on the box when you bought it. The box I got had a sportster image but as it was not modded it only picked up the FREE TO AIR channels.

Am by no means an expert on this but it could save you a lot of hassle if you can double check this.
