Dbox In Ireland

You have to do a manual scan. The frequency scheme is different to NTL cable.

 

THe Replay Lite dont seem to be working on NTL Dublin WEF today... anyone know why and how to fix it...only have RTE2 and TV3 all others say 1800 scrambled

 

DBOX2 with NTL in Dublin is not working anymore since the 24th May. I am Lead to believe NTL have copped on and changed and you will only get the Free to Air channels. This has happened my DBox is this the case? Has anyone a solution?

If your cable has stopped, as mine did (in Dublin with N*L) then you need to change your softcam to MGcam. This should resolve everything.

 

Has anyone got directions on how to change to MGcam.

Found it using dbox menu Features (blue button), then System menu, then Emulators menu and made sure that only MGcamd was selected as 'on'. Did a 'Restart emululator' followed by a dbox reboot and now everything's fine.

 

Has anyone else encountered periodic freezing of both picture and sound, after switching to MgCamd?
I have only experienced it on RTE1, so far as I am watching the election coverage and have no checked other channels.

This could be a signal problem (I played around with the connections last night).

Please let me know if you have switched to MgCamd and are experiencing freezing (about ever 5-10 mins.)

Apologies for a question from a total newbie!

I haven't been able to find the correct menu (when I press the blue button I get the plugins menu). The 'setup' menu does not seem to have anything in relation to Emulators or softcam settings. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

If you press the DBOX button on the remote first, it should bring you into the menu.

I'm new to this and was thinking of getting a dbox2 for use with sky digital in Dublin Ireland. what box should i purchase what shoudl i lokk out for when buying it. all help will be gratefully appreciated.

Do you really think NTHell dont know about these boxes?
They have to change away from nagravision if they dont want us using boxes like DBox, Starview, Eurovox, Etc anymore. Like sky had to do back in the ninties. All their equiptment will have to change.
Anyway
To fix your box download the Keys and copy them onto your dbox overwriting the old ones and change chmod to 755 for all files in keys folder, restart box and it should be ok, you wont even have to change the cam but for ireland the best cam is mgcam <me thinks>

Sky via satellite is not hacked.

 

The satellite version of the Dbox is just for FTV Channels

 

so everyone talking about dbox2 is only using them on cable? i thought it would be the same for sky digital, so there is no way of getting the same results using a dbox2 with satelite?????

 

Nope Sky scrapped nagravision back in the mid ninties as far as I remember.

 

Sky never used nagra. The scrambling system is NDS and if something went wrong Sky simply exchange all cards like 3 or 4 years before.
