I couldn't find any menu on the dbox for this.

what image are you running?

 

i have a nokia d box 2 using sportster image in NTL cable area in waterford i lost most my channels over the weekend.i did an auto scan on cable uk sym6887 and got most channels however stil missing about 30 channels when i do a manual scan on cable uk sym6887 nothing shows up.ne ideas wot i cud do next?

 

You should upload the irish cables.xml via ftp as advised in your other thread.

 

commando cables.xml is in a different folder than that. Can't remember where

Regular UKTVG is acting up a bit too now. I have 2 nokias in my house now so will check with them to see if it is just the sagems.

 

bettyb more help would be greatly appreciated. I have my dbox connected to NTL via a splitter that gives broadband it's connection aswell. when i connect dbox directly to NTL output the channels are all jerky and unwatchable when i connect it via the splitter i can watch them but they freeze every 15mins or so as previously described. I will try the dbox a other points in the house tonight and let you know? Any other suggestions. Is there a known issue with dbox and broadband? Followed all your previous advice. The amout the channels freeze also seems to vary with the time of day and the channel???????

deactivate roms 10 and 11 should help..

 

You might need somebody elses service.xml file. When I scanned recently I got different frequencies than usual. What have you - a sagem I presume. Try blade with 001A and gbox. Bet TV3 is one that acts up at prime times, like morning show & emmerdale/coronation street.

 

Thanks Guys but Tried the box with different setting at different TV point in same house and it works perfect. Broadband must be messing with it. Anyone heard of this before there is a splitter insitu called an EMI ISOLATION TAP 6db 5-1000MHz that the broadband comes off seems to be part of the problem but if i conect the dbox directly to the point the picture is even more jerky picture??

 

The signal is simply too strong.
The 6 db decrease of the splitter is maybe not enough.
Try an adjustable attenuator at the dbox line.

 

anybody got a copy of d box command centre software?

I started getting freezing every few minutes lately and was reading through the forum but I am very confused about deleting rom10 & rom11 and grom, softcam, mgcam etc etc. Can somebody explain these in simple English as I am lost.

From what I gather rom 10 & 11 are to do with updating keys and deleting them will fix this problem.

grom and mgcam fix freezing issues????

Simply disable evocamd and enable mgcamd in your image.

 

mgcamd 1.19 and 1.22 seem to cause freezing in dublin. deleting roms 10 and 11 and enabling evocamd seems to do the trick.

 

I guess the file mg_cfg is missing for mgcamd because you didn't install the config files for mgcamd at your gemini image.

 

would it be possible to create mg_cfg and ftp across to the box ???

 

Just checked and mg_cfg is there but A {1} : Should this be set to A {2} ? Thanks for the help.
