The file is indeed password protected. It is just the latest FAQ file for the DBox 2. Not worth looking at really if all you want is to decrypt the channels. How do I upload on this site and I will post the file with no password ????

Unfortunately it sounds like you have a dbox1 and you really need a dbox2, dbox1 isnt much use, needs a lot of work to get running.

Precondition for a dbox1 is a amon cam and a funcard.
Its not much work but some blokes are not able to do such simple thinks like programming a funcard.

Thanks for your help so far! One last question, if Sky stations cannot be encrypted does that mean that the eurovox box on the market in Ireland will only give FTA channels as well ? Regards.

The software is doing the descrambling job not the hardware.
You need the right software for every box.
You need a funcard programmed with the right files and a conditional access modul converted with the amon soft for a cable dbox1.
Sky via satellite is not hacked.
The theme is cable and mmds in this thread and not satellite.

Sky channels using a sky satellite dish cannot be decrypted. If you are on NTL/chrous etc using susbcription cable then the eurovox will decode all channels (including sky channels on NTL, and as long as the eurovox has the right software). I would recommend a nokia dbox2 or dreambox over the eurovox.

    Hey,
Gave mate of mine my dbox2 for a lend. hes in portmarnock on ntl, and box has sporster 1.7 working flawlessly in Dub 18.
He turned it on last Tuesday, worked perfect. But last night he turned it on again, can see the EPG fine, but no image/sound.
I have another one at home running exact same image, with no problems at all.
    Any ideas?

Your mate should pull the plug and try again.

    hi,
I've just ordered a d-box2 with sportser 1.10. I am currently subscribed to basic digital cable in Galway . When my d-box arrives assuming it works straight away, do I need to have a cable subscription at all? and do I need to keep the pace box connected?

I'm a complete noob to this so I'll probably need some guidance from this forum for a while. Thanks in advance for your help.
