Dbox In Ireland

The selected emu is doing the descrambling job not the image.
Autoupdate via rom10 and rom11 is nomore possible and you have to wait up to 15 minutes for a rom7 key update.
Rom10 and rom11 should be disabled or the files deleted.
Reboot the box after changing any thing at the image.

 

Hi again found the problem if anyone has updated to COMMANDO 8.2
the password is commando and not dbox or dbox2
this was the problem i had and i eventually got the FTP
sorted but cant be sure for other commando updates

sorry i should have since flashing with commando 8.2 and used ftp
to transfer the cables .xml to the box i now have all the channels again
and a much improved reception aswell

Can someone upload the latest Irish cables.xml file please?

OK. I just recieved my dbox2 today. It's in debug mode and has the sportster pro image version1.10. i've hooked it up to the cable and connected it to the tv. I turned it all on, the sportster logo comes up, channel names come up when i key in numbers ie. 1- das erste, 45 comedy central etc, but no picture. I've read what i can get my hands on and im guessing i need the irish services xml. I got this a couple of pages back on this thread. what im not sure about is how to transfer this file to my dbox? any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers.

 

I've done a scan and ive got some channels . not even all the channels i normally get through my pace box, all channels are coming up on the epg but most are locked . how do i unlock these? cheers

 

It looks like you got a original sportster and not a UK modded.
Flash a UK modded sportster and upload the irish cables.xml to /var/tuxbox/config, delete the file scan.conf in the same sub folder and pull the plug.
Go to the scan menue and select in the provider line what you want for a scan.

You can put a new image on with IFA or put it on with FTP software and then update on the box via the TV.

 

Where can i find a uk modded sportster? do i need the dbox command centre program to flash it? i dont know if i have 1/2 chips do i have to open the box to find out?

But Ive downloaded filezilla now is it easy to flash an image with this?

 

Have you got a crossover cable? if not you cannot put them on. When you scan is there an option UK sym 6887?
If so choose that, fast scan off, and new bouquet.

Your box came with german channels, but since a scan showed some it might have a UK scan, fast scan may have been on.

Is it a nokia? if so it is 2x. only sagems can be 1X or 2X.

I have a crossover cable, cant see any UK sym 6887 option just "tv, radio, all services" options. I have scanned and all Irish/English channels came up on the epg but only a handful work. Fast scan is off.
My box is a sagem. I'm not sure how to use IFA OR ftp I'll go learn how to use them and get back to you. I've been reading up on the dbox for the last few weeks but ojnly got the box today so some of it is begining to make sense

 

IFA is a little easier to use than FTP stuff, but try and learn both. I have found blade is best for sagems and have it for 1x and 2x, I have new settings from the programmer (Xenafan) but it was still freezing a little last night, self-recovered most times though, still the most stable I have used.

Also Mgb mentioned disabling roms I have never done this so can I do it from remote or do I need lap top connected.

total novice here on dbox.... lost channels about four weeks ago help me please dont have a clue where to start... have tried reading back but to be honest making no sense to me whatsoever....

Commando is the only image I know of that you can disable roms from the menu (on tv via the settings menu).
On others you have to delete them. I am not certain but I think mgb17 has said it is really only an issue with evocam.

mgb17- do you think in the future we will ever need nagra 3,10,11? Does it matter if they are in the keys menu when using gbox?
