From a other forum (only for pace boxes):

on your subscription box unplug from wall socket then on the box press and hold all the time the up and down arrow buttons on the box

then plug in the power still holding down on these buttons you will get a engineers menu then let go of the down and up buttons

in there you will find your netid and frequency and symbol rate

press the right arrow on subscription box to flick through the pages where you will find this information

if you are ready unplug and replug the subscription box without pressing the buttons

A network scan via NTL cable Dublin or NTL cable W+G should be functional.
Are you sure fast scan/manual scan is disabled.

Either network scan is botched in your image or the network information table is missing in Galway.
    Try NTL Dublin bf.

Use the irish cables.xml from page 49 (irish8.zip).

Right, the cables.xml goes to /var/tuxbox/config.
If you can see the old cables.xml you are in the right subfolder at the box.
Delete the file scan.conf in the same folder after uploading the cables.xml and pull the plug at the dbox.

Different signal strength at the frequencies is not common for a cable network.
If some frequencies are good the signal should be alright.

Box and pc must be in the same subnet. Set the pc network card to the fixed ip 192.168.0.2 and the box to 192.168.0.24.
Type 192.168.0.24 and root for usierid and dbox2 for password in the quick connect line of filezilla and let connect.
If you get a connect the left window represending the pc and the right window the box. Open the right subfolder at the box, select the cables.xml at the pc side with a right click of the mouse and select upload.
At the box side select scan.conf with a right click and select delete.

Box and pc must be connected via crossover cable.
The box ip must be set to 192.168.0.24 in your case.
Save settings and restart network at the dbox.
Gateway at the pc doesn't matter. It can be set to 0.

Default port for ftp is 21. You shouldn't overwrite the default with a other value.

You cannot connect via port 0. Type 21 for the ftp port and use 192.168.0.2 for the IP at the pc for the network card in use.
The IP 192.168.0.24 is the targed adress for filezilla. The box must be set to 192.168.0.24 in your case.
