Dbox In Ireland

hello what is a Dbox? i`m lookin for info on starview

 

it begs the question but what is a Dbox2?I`m lost in cyberspace

 

its a box that gets subscription channels for free when you have a basic cable service in your home. Starview is just the most popular make at the moment

I've tried Commando 8.2 and Sportster 1.08 but getting frozen channels and "error not found" on a lot of channels. Some channels are in b&w.

Does anyone have links to other 2x images for a Nokia DBox2. I read a few pages back that some people had success with the Blade Image, anybody have this one? If so, please post a link or pm me to email.

On the Sportster image I changed image by doing the following:
Dbox key/Service/Software Update/Expert Mode/Write Single Partition.
However, I don't get the Software Update option on the Commando image. I get 'image upgrade/backup' and when I press that I get 'backup one partition' and 'flash one partition'

there is someone on this site that might still have a few think he was selling them for €150,9 times out of 10 when you get 1 off flea bay you have to flash it with a uk image and then put on cables .xml file but all the info you need is here,send cathaldub a pm and find out if he still has any

Blade or modified JtG with gbox.

 

is that blade 2 or blade trinity?have tried blade trinity in cork but still freezes,also gbox doesnt bring in all the channels,are you using gbox in cork youself?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me and tell what i'm doing wrong..
I have just got the updated irish cables.xml file and wanted to update my exisiting one.
first i edited the existing cables file in/var/tuxbox/config/ by removing all but chorus cable from it. I did this just to see if the changes would appear when i went to do a scan on the dbox and they did. so i felt safe to replace this file now with the irish cables.xml file.
but now when i go to do a scan i still have just the chorus cable option it wont show any of the others, i have tried rebooting and checking for other cables.xml files on the other dbox directories but can't find any.

could someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong and if anyone has a better image than the sportster1.7dublin img

(apologies if some/all of this is jubberish)

 

Upload the irish cables.xml to var/tuxbox/config. Delete the file scan.conf in the same directory and pull the plug.

 

Try ucode version 001A and reboot the box after selecting the other version.

 

have ucode 1a on and still only get a few channels on gbox,have only rom 7 enabled also,find mgcamd with 001a is the only 1 that works with blade trinity

I'm buying the nokia Dbox2. i live out in balbriggan area, Ntl dont do the standard cable out there, but they use a "mmds" system. they put an aerial on the side of the house and a small decoder box. so its actually Digital, will the dbox work with this?

I have same setup in Dunboyne, it works, of course not al channels will be there e.g. Bravo, sci-fi missing, but that is only because the mms bandwith doesn't allow it nothing to do with the dbox.

 

does it have all the sports channels and movies?
