what you mean it has NO keys ? it is displaying encrypted like Sky Premier etc but the main problem/s are that i aint getting enuff channels.. only 40 or so... while there are 140 or so available i think.. will try some new things i learned today .. lets see

Having a bit of trouble: doing a bit of work round the house earlier and asked the missus to knock off the trip switch fo rthe lights: she hit the sockets, 4 or 5 times! Now when I go to switch on my Dbox2, it sticks at Loading Kernel. Reckon the power surges must have corrupted some file (no surge protection plug, another thing I keep meaning to get). \From reading the posts, it looks like I'll have to flash teh box. I was using Sportster 1.7, but I'd like to use the Don v4 to see if that stops it from freezing up as well. No idea how to get IFA, the Don, etc (Isee them on a weblink, but I think I havre to be invited to join to download anything). Can someone give me a little or lot or help, please? Thanks in advance

 

Reflashed Services.xml file and have >140 channels now using C8.2.

Is it possible to actually take the Tuner and install that on a PCI card on a Linux runing PC and using two of these as PVR ???just a wild thought i guess...OR IS IT ???Hmmmmmmmmmm

 

Hi guys. Notice on my dbox nt.ell have put in interactive and ppv etc on the menus. will we get red button functions from them etc like sky.

Agggh!! Can someone point out where I am going wrong on this?

Have flashed fekkers 2x blade2 image to a Sagem 2x box
ftp'd dsleepers services,cables, and bouquets to correct locations
deleted scan.conf
turned off the box and turned it back on again (and got nothing)
performed a scan 6887, fastscan off, and still got nothing.

I had this box working fine a while ago but then had some freezing problems with it. All help appreciated.

 

I'm a noob myself but try re falshing the image ? or maybe try Commando 8.2 i am using it and is working great for me..and i have had a dbox for only last 4 days...

 

Use the irish cables.xml.
As far as I know the cables.xml goes to /share/tuxbox at a blade image.
You have to pull the plug after deleting the scan.conf.

 

I got sporster 1.1 with gbox working on my sagem 2x. Strangely the SIG comes in at 40-41000, which is similar to a nokia. The sagem on any other image was always 23-26000.

Pretty similar in operation to blade with gbox, I still get the odd black screen for a few seconds that recovers itself. I prefer blades menus.

 

The numbers depends on the tuner driver version.
You can only compare the numbers from the same version.
Nokia tuner driver and sagem tuner driver are different.

 

I got a variable attenuator and I gto my BER down near 0. Still only getting 109 channels. Do you think I need a booster?

 

BER with 0 is good.
Use a the right cables.xml for scanning.

 

Do the channels that you do get have good picture? If so you might only need a services from somebody in your area. Or try scanning in a friends house. Maybe have the coax going via a video or dvdrecorder, this can stabilise the signal.

At times I couldnt pick up a single channel when scanning, but if I had the right service file on all the channels were there and working perfectly.

Scans in dublin are now working fine, when 1 month ago they were terrible.

 

pm me your email and I can send it in a day or so. I have blade trinity V2 on a sagem 2x working. I didnt post it since fekkers was up already. I should have 8.2 for nokias in a day or so too, but recommend blade for sagems

 

Lads, I need advice. I'm getting one of these things, no doubt about it, but I haven't got a clue what half of yiz are talking about.I dont know what a commando, sportster or a picture is. I certainly wouldn't know how to "flash" one.I just need to know a few things in "beginners" language.

1.How often do these boxes need to be up-dated?
2.Does it cost money to up-date it?
3.How DO you up-date it?
4.I have a wide-screen plasma, do these boxes show pictures in 16.9 wide?
5.I know you can hook them up to the pc, can the electronic channel guide (the channels) be re-arranged to your favourites?
