Say i wanted to pair an AMD ATHLON XP 2600 /333 FSB with a motherboard that supported the following

    FSB: 200/266/333/400
    RAM:pC3200/2700/2100/1600 DDR SDRAMs

If i put DDR PC3200 (400MHZ) into this mix, would it be slowed down to 333MHZ? I dont quite fully understand this....Thank you

As best I understand, you can put faster than your system suports but it will be slowed down to what your system suport. I also think that all the memory present should be close to the same speed. I would not recomend mixing a 400 with a 200, it might not work or could cause problems. But I am not too sure on memory speed mixing. I can remember adding 100Mhz Dimms on 66Mhz bus and I think it was fine.
