@backedups Some drives do not support 16x for -r media that may be your problem. They support 16x for +r but not -r. Burning at 16x speed only increases your chances of burn error or playback issues. As Gwen said use better media. What's the make and model of your burner and what blank media are you using? What's the error?
I have 500+ burns maybe more no real problems just an occasional coaster. I've used Verbatium, Maxell, Memorex, Fuji, Office Depot, Office Max. I've had no problems burning any of these. They all burn equally good. I do realize some are better than others. My kids test them for me ( fingerprints, scratches,ect.) The media brand is not the real problem here. My Liteon 1633 burner loves all media!! The real problem is this setup (computer,burner,media) in XP will burn perfect with +RW or +R only. It will not burn a -R. This same setup only swapping Xp for Win 2000, I can burn anything. Any Brand. Any format including -R. I'm just trying to narrow down what could be causing this. All help is greatly welcomed. @gwendolin I didn't ignore any assistance. I can take one drive with Win 2000 and burn everything under the sun. Not changing anything else just a drive with XP and I can burn +R and +RW. Something is strange and I'm just trying to narrow down the problem. Thanks for the help!!!
Well W2000 is my favorite PC program..(like other folk) but the quick swalla of of 'granpa's best an a few chilli beans, allied wuth a lited match; burns most things.........g whut was the questun...???
