hi, could someone help me? a week ago, i had default favourite channels on my PVR EX5000, i did not araange these they were already defaulted on my box.(it was a brand new box) i have now lost all the favourites off my box and dont want to spend ages selecting each individual channel and putting them into different categories, from the channel menu. is there a way i can get the box to randomly sort the favourites out for me, like they were before. Thankyou in advanced. xxx
I flashed my ex5000 with UFL_EX5000_DarX_01-12-08 firmware today I did not lose any channels at all they stayed in their positions. I presume when You changed the firmware you lost your channels our you did a power scan? Is there not a way to sort them in the favs as an option in the menu? Menu/ Channels/ Channel manager/ SORT !
No there is no way for the box to do it automatically for you, you can only hope that someone from your area has got a CDF, you would be better off checking under HiTecks post, inhis signatuuure "Channel Dumps" you might be lucky and find one that you can download to PC then box, same answer for you also jasewinds - it is always the best policy to make your own channel dump file and upload to your PC, when you have them how you like them, but check >>>>>>>>>>> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371 EDIT:- Although I forgot to mention the there is Firmware Available at the same link for the ex 5000 with the Auto-Sort facility included, if you are in UK.

No need to bother now there is Firmare with the Auto-Sort facility available, modded version of 18 04 08. You will find it here on this page, just go down the page to your box EX 5000 okay, but if you ever want to load a CDF, then you just load it with the bottom half of the (UFL Unified Loader and Firmware) you used to flash the box with in the first place, (It is always better to clear Data before doing so) Anyway go to this page for the Auto-Sort Firmware it is clearly marked courtesy of HiTeck >>>>>>>> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371
