deleting large files from my but no space is being regained, oh shat !!!

    ok so i have a 40 gig samsung hdd. I formatted the other day and everythig was workign perfectly for almost a week.

    Now when i uninstall or delete files no space is gained on my hard drive. Whats up with that? How can i fix this becides reformatting

    run disk cleanup. Do you have a program Norton System Works? If you do, right click recycle bin and purge everything.

    I had that problem a long time ago as a matter of fact that was the reason I joined aD!!! Anyway the problem for me was a conflict with a Norton Product with some type of Recycle bin protection BS. I uninstalled it and viola! Fixed. Hope that might help.

    Oner, you didn't need to uninstall the product. Just have to right click recycle bin, click properties, then click norton protection. Then uncheck the enable button for that drive.
