Before When i wanted to clean up and delete all temp and tmp and temp. internet explorer files I would open windows explorer and in tools, options unclick show hideden files and folders, then go to documents and settings (my name) local, find them and delete. that no longer works i have to also unclick hide protected operating system files to be able to find them. Is this something new in one of microsofts updates?
They are also greyed out and hard to open to delete.

    Yep...if you've installed Internet Explorer 7.

Yes..that's the offending application. It hides the Temporary Internet Files folder.
