I recently transferred some video tapes from my camcorder, using Movie maker, the file was about 50 minutes of video, I made the dvd. and now want to remove the file, however I keep getting the message that it cannot be deleted as it is being used by another program or user, NO one else uses the computer. and I could not find anything running in the task manager? has anyone else had this problem, any help would be appreiciated,, THe COmputer has DVD Encrypter, DVD shrink and Nero Ultra installed, as well as MS movie maker.Help Please

You can also do this by deleting the Deafult key in:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler

Another nice utility that does not need rebooting is "unlocker":
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ (the site contains a table with a comparison of a lot of similar applications)
