yea, After I chatted with Dell and they told me to change my msconfig to limited startup I noticed that I couldn't use the sides of the touchpad. I went in and chose synaptics to start on startup and it worked, but I think every time I go in and change msconfig it turns the synaptics thing off. It wouldn't matter if I didn't use the sides so much, but I like using the scroll function on the touchpad instead of using the directional arrows or trying to hold down a button and use the scroll bar in a page. It is more a matter of convenience and not really a big deal to me, unless it means that there is something wrong with the touchpad, it doesn't matter too much.

No, sorry, I didn't explain. This is the touchpad on a laptop. And the right hand side and the bottom part can be used to scroll up and down and sided to side in webpages and stuff. I don't use a mouse, I prefer the touchpad.

What was the reason you called DELL in the first place?

That didn't do anything, I still have to go into my program files and manually open Synaptics.

I didn't call, did an online chat, and mainly because it was taking a long time for that computer to boot up. More than 5 minutes for everything to load, and then when I would try to open programs or internet explorer, or just files and stuff, they would open very slowly. I use that computer for work and it running so slow was very inconvenient, and annoying because it isn't even a year old yet.

Other than touchpad scroll issue, is the PC functioning properly? Is your PC still under warranty?

It is running much better, booting up quickly and opening files quickly. I am still getting IE popups, full webpages and boxes that say things like "NOTICE: If your computer is infected you could suffer data loss....etc." wanting me to install AntiSpyware Suite. But other than that everything seems to be much better. And I really appreciate your help.

    Run this program.
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-use-SmitFraudFix-t109268.html

We also have two entries in the last HJK log which do not to have any available data to diagnose. However, they both look suspicious. Do you know what this 023 entry is?
    O23 - Service: Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless SSO Service (WLANKEEPER) - Intel(R) Corporation - C:\Program

I've been able to remove this 09 entry in the past by booting into safe mode and fixing it with HJK. However, you did try to fix this one earlier in safe mode and it's still present?
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

Either, one of the above entries could surely be the source of your pop-ups. If you don't know what the 023 entry is, we will remove it.

Finally, in regard to your touchpad scroll issue, this could be the result of infections. Once we get rid of the remaining threats, then if the scroll function still doesn't work. The driver may need to be replaced.

So far, we fixed a few entries with HJK. A few more with SDfix.

Still waiting on the log from SmitfraudFix.

Is your Internet connection AOL dialup?

Thanks, for your kinds words. Much appreciated!
