My girlfriend was mandated to buy a Dell D500 Notebook w/ her school tuition (great eh?) and now the battery can't hold a charge because of being plugged in for so long.

I checked the dell site and found a couple replacements, but one is a refurb for half the price, $126 and $56 respectively.

I've never dealt with notebooks before so any opinions would be great.

personally i would buy the new battery since they would probably give 1yr replacement and for the refurb some 30days,hey just check to c if the dell already has guarantee and if they could replace it for free
