difference between DVD+RW and DVD+RW/R

    What is the difference in these type of drives. I have a DVD+RW/R. I just saw someone post that they had a DVD+RW but was gonna get DVD+RW/R.

    jnihil: I think he asked about "plus" formats. Or he was confused, either way :)

    DVD+R and DVD+RW are "sister formats" -- current "plus drives" burn both. Philips, Dell and HP are advocates of this format.

    DVD-R and DVD-RW are "sister formats" -- current "minus drives" burn both. Apple and Pioneer are the rulers of this format.

    And as jnihil said, minus offers slightly better compatibility AND minus discs are _MUCH_ cheaper than plus discs.
