    Well done mate, enjoy!

@ cactikid - So would i be right in saying that there are actually 3 diff freqs that 'they' transmit at, cause I know there are def 2 diff types of downconverter that Chxxus use(mmds) and is communial different again?

    Message for Chester 77

What where your Signal level percentage & quality percentage before you started searching for channels at the 8 interval frequencies? Did you have some sort of percentage or did they both say 0%?

Currently i have 0% and have been trying the intervals but no channels yet. Just wondering do i need a signal level & quality percentage reading before i manually scan. If so i thimk i need to adjust my aerial.

Would appreciate if you or anyone who knows about this could reply.

    Cheers

As far i am aware if they are on communal aerial they are running thru a private company which are getting the signal from either providers

there are only 1 type of downconverters for the Cho*** MMDS boxes which are the ones supplied for both mains MMDS and roof top MMDS

All of Cho*** areas thru out Ireland do use different freq same as the mains cable do in their areas as well

Best advice start the manual scan at the lowest and increase by 8mhz until you find a channel then after that stay at 8mhz i know it will take a long time but thats the joys of these boxes lol

Hey, i initially caused the problem because i stuck the wrong bin file on it.

I had to go and find the correct bin file which was:
    digivox_ter_v3300.bin.

    I found it here:
    http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html

... through MAINAMN's signature here. It's in the
    digivox/firmware/digivox terrestrial firmware(MMDS) folder.

Then i just followed the instructions i read elsewhere here. Turn off the box, and using Downloader 10, with mode set to app, and com set to com1, hit download on the bin file. Waited 2 or 3 seconds, then turned the box on. It took 5 or 6 go's, but it finally completed the flash, whereas before it'd get to 99% and kept saying "Flash failed".

    Hope this helps.

Sorry mate, signal strength wasn't something i noticed or paid any attention to. My set up is probably different to yours anyhow, cos i'm not working off an aerial.
    What area are you in.

you are using the same structure if you are using a digivox T box you are on MMDS dont matter if its cable MMDS or roof MMDS they all use the same structure apart from the freq maybe

Chester we have the same set up but you have a previously mounted aerial, i am trying to mount my own and connect it directly to the box.

I cant understand how i am not getting signal at the moment though.I have the firmware flashed,i used the site link below to get it and it downloaded fine.

    http://www.4shared.com/dir/6791846/54781b9c/sharing.html

There is a scart connecting my box to tv, F plug lead from my box to the downconverter (Tv side),F plug lead from the downconverter (downconverter side) to the aerial (Yagi Aerial). The aerial is mounted on the roof, directed towards the transmitter.

I turn on the box no problem, set the emu as on, go to the manual scan as i believe an automatic scan is not possible with the yagi aerials because they operate off a higher frequency (666-878Mhz at 8mhz intervals for the scan). When i open the manual scan window a level and quality percentage bar come up at the bottom of the screen, these have always displayed 0%, i have tried adjusting the aerial but it does not seem to change.

I am 13km from the cork airport signal transmitter and 40km from the clashmore transmitter,My elevation is 40m whereas the airport is 140m and i think maybe i cannot pick up the signal because of this. I have a good sight of clashmore but as of yet can not pick up signal.

Once the aerial picks up a signal will the screen percentage bars show the appropriate signal strength?

Does my setup seem to be right?

I would appreciate if someone could get back to me on what they think my problem could be.

The firmware i flashed on the box is v4300, now i see people mention v3300 a lot but i presumed the v4300 is just an updated version, correct?

    Thanks

Also if anyone knows, is the signal sent horizontal or vertical?

    Thanks

First valid frequency should be either 682mhz or 690mhz for your aerial depending on the local transmitter.
If the frequency is valid you should get readings for strength and quality and you can align your aerial via that readings.
If you are not sure about the polarization simply try both.

Also be mindful of the aerials you buy that nearly all of them have to be 15 miles or less clear line of site to the mast otherwise it will not work

Clear line means no threes houses or anything in the way of it

Firstly mate, you must flash your Digivox T with V3300, no other firmware will do, Dont think the box will show any signal level until you start manually scanning, start at 658mHz (658000) and add 8 mHz each time for Yagi!
Clashmore is probably too far away for you, All main transmitters transmit on Horizontal, secondary transmitters(beam benders) are Vertical.
    Best of luck

Hi mate if you are in dublin and on MMDS it is most likely NTL MMDS you are on if so that box you have will NOT work for you

That box is for the CHORUS MMDS only so unless you are in there area you are wasting your time trying to get that box to work

NTL MMDS use the DVB-C box

Chorus MMDS us the DVB-T box which you have

To over come the chdl prob thats because you did not allow the flash to complete its burning you stoped it after you sen 100% you need to wait until you get the pop up on the screen and the box reboots before you take the cable off

There should be a file in the eko site for the chdl prob on the digivox if not if you let me know i will sort one for you

you can let me know on here and ill get back to you cheers
