discontinued motherboard

    can anyone help?..i have to replace a Asus A7N266-VX,i only had my sony vaio 14 mnth,however my prob is can i replace an asus motherboard that will recognise the sony vaio recovery disc,thankyou

    no, i dont think so! the mother board bundle with brand pc are usually made for that model and brand,.

    if you get a new mobo even that same one i dont think the sony rec cd will work on it

    anyway since you are replacing the mobo why not get a new and more advance model????

    well i thought if i got the same mother/b. with the same chipset,i could install xp from the one and only disc sony supply.

    check with your local computer stores to see if they have or can get the same board as your old one so you can still use cd
