I Only have coax / s-video / RCA (red yellow white) on my dish network reciver and I want surround sound. My question is which one gives out surround sound? Can you give me a link to the items I need for my surround sound to work and more than one way to get it to work if there is more.

Second question is there is an adapter for my dvi to rca but the colors are red blue teal. Does that offer surround sound? if not what adapter other than hdmi can I get for my pc dvi to hook up to my reciver

All you can do with your dish receiver, is use the red&white RCA cables, and set your A/V receiver to Dolby Pro Logic II. It's just simulated surround, but you have no choice. The simulated surround isn't too bad.

The red, blue, and green RCA cables are component cables. They are for video only. In fact, the best video next to HDMI. You need to tell Dish Network that you need a new receiver, with digital outputs.

I don't know of any adapters like you're wanting, for the pc. You'll probably need a new video card, and a new sound card.
