I have downloaded a movie and in loud dialogue or action scenes the sound gets distorted and crackly.

Is there a way of changing this prior to burning with Nero Vision?

If the correct codec is installed there should be no problem.
You can download 'GSpot', drag the your file on to it and see if the audio codec is installed.
    http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html
Example might be '0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3' and underneath it should say 'Codec Installed'.
But if the source of the problem is a defective audio track.......

In 'GSpot' when you press button 1 then button 2, is it noisy?
If you have windows Media Player, right click on the avi and 'play with media player'.
    Is it noisy?
In media Player I think?? you can click 'properties' 'file' and check which codecs it's using. This is just to see if there is a difference.
My fix would be to download the file from another source ;)
