Guess I'll get a new drive what do you think about the LG GSA-H22N drive Oh yea I use only Verb DL's so hope fully thats not it. And I just went through a whole box and I've got 3 out of 20 left but the first 2 or 3 I did use.
WinXP will see any blank DVD as a CD since it only has built-in support for CDs, not DVDs. The only thing that matters is whether your burning software sees the blank disk as a DVD. If it doesn't, you've got a problem. Did you try using the stock 1.06 firmware? All the stock firmwares are capable of booktyping +RDL media. They won't booktype +R or +RW however. Liggy's hacked 1.06 will booktype all three formats. I haven't had a whole lot of success with LG drives in the past, nor Liteon for that matter. I've usually used NEC and BenQ drives. So many manufacturers have changed their underlying builds, I have no idea what to recommend any longer. I don't know what I'd even purchase right now. The best advice I can give is to read the reviews, especially at cdrinfo.com and cdfreaks.com.
