[bold]Ok I'm having a problem getting my DMA to turn ON for my primary and secondary IDE channels Device 1. I've switched it to say use DMA if available but the current transfer mode for both says PIO mode for both channels on Device 1 (Device 0 current transfer mode is Ultra DMA Mode 5).I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the DVD and CD-Rom and also uninstalled and reinstalled the IDE primary and secondary channel drivers. Any other possible way to get that DMA turned on in current transfer mode for Device 1? Anyone help would be greatly appreciated?[/bold]
only thing can think of isonceyou have set to DMA if available...did you reboot right then.... just an old highway tramp ---Bill---
sorry to be a grouch but i and others have spent ages on this one here and you need to follow the advice there 'til conclusion. opening a new thread just for the dma confuses things - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/253222 i've requested this thread be closed as it makes helping you more time consuming across mutiple threads. i had given you ALL the answers you need in that thread, so pls follow my suggestions and you'll be burning up a storm in no time
sorry creaky i didn't know anotherthread going on it... i just jumped in trying to answer what i thought might have ....... guess i need to look around a little more myself.... i didn't start this thread ...just seen his question....and responded..... hehehe..... but a boot to me.... my bag I guess... just an old highway tramp ---Bill--
you're ok, at least the poster is getting helped, it's all good stuff. i for one always look up old posts and use them to help on new posts so the extra info is always great; it's just a pain when multiposts are raised as it takes longer to help ppl when the problem is splatted across more than one thread
not a problem I knew i had read something ..just didnt look deep enough.... take care just an old highway tramp ---Bill---
