Hello, I'm very new to DVD recording. Do all DVD recorders automatically copyright protect the copy of the original? In other words, if I copy a non-copyrighted VHS to DVD, will all recorders then copyright the DVD so that it can't be copied? From reading another thread here, the Emerson VCR/DVD Recorder Combo EWR20V4 automatically does this. I want to give DVD copies of my our home videos to my family, so I don't want to buy a player that will prevent me from doing that, if at all possible. Thanks.
That seems unlikely. Macrovision (the company) demands money to turn on macrovision (the copyright protection scheme).
