yes you will have to flash the drive to play backups. that link is for people with older firmware to boot new games from what i understand. benq drives are easily flashed. i used an intel chipset on an older computer and it took like a half hour. oh and by the way you might get more posts if you would have posted this in the xbox 360 general discussion.
