This whole thread is make believe. There is no chip, there is no way of anyone finding out whether a disk has been copied or not.

I hope you see that most everyone here was just having a little fun, myself included.

ok, dvdripdvd and anyone else who was worried about the guy burning down his house. Putting metal in a microwave will NOT cause it to explode, it WON'T cause it to catch on fire. Actually it won't do ANYTHING. The only thing that will happen is, if you crumple tin foil and put it in the microwave, it will spark a whole lot. Its actually pretty cool looking, i suggest you try it out sometime.

They did a segment on Mythbusters about metal causing a microwave to explode. Well, it was totally busted. There is no truth to it. They put a whole cutlery set in there, nothing happened. The only chance of it effecting anything, is if you put the metal right against the side, the current could HYPOTHETICALLY jump though the side and short out the motor.

But there is no danger of the microwave exploding. Its just one of those urban myths.

I will attest to what you just mentioned about the microwave since I also saw that show.

Let's see, aluminum foil + dvd + one can hairspray + microwave all for 5 minutes = house fire

I didn't see myth busters, will that one fix the disc? Burning the house will keep blockbuster from finding it.

Well with the hairspray included in that mix, at least our hair will look neat and in place when the firedepartment arrives. That is if it isn't burn off our heads by then.

Phew, I'm lucky that the man upstairs didn't endow me with the equipment needed to make that whole urine/cupholder/microwave snafu!

    Talk about dodging the bullet!

Just like the myth about microwaves giving a person cancer without them knowing it. I repaired microwaves for over 25 years before becoming a manager and I tell you if a microwave is leaking enough to get to you, you will feel it just like the food does. I followed this thread and kept wondering how the fairy tale would end. LMAO all the way to the end. A very good story.

Boy!! I didn't believe this thread would go this far :) Got a good laugh out of it though. Good job guys! I would like to thank all of you that played along it was fun and interesting to say the least, and for you poor fools who were actually beliving this load of crap I'm sorry... Well not really, but don't take it to hard we were just having fun, and trying to keep you from doing something illegal. Of course no one can tell if you copied a DVD unless of course you have a newer DVD burner which has a built in camera, and they can see everything you do with that drive. Right now only NEC, LiteON, Pioneer, and Plextor have this technology heres a link www.DVDcameraspy.net

    Later ;-)
