    Hello,

I've been trying to get the direct link to an embedded flash video all morning and although I've been reading the postings back and forth I can't seem to crack this nut... The website is called mediencenter.n24.com and I don't even want to download videos from there, just to get the direct links, so I can send them to other people to watch. The video I'm interested in right now is the first video under the tab "Auto".

Can anybody please give me a hand with this?

    Cheers!

I found another way to record some videos.
I have not tried it much so I'm not sure how good it works yet.
    Some may already know this.

You need Real Player for this.

First I would close your Browsers.
    Open up Real Player.
    Goto - Tools
    Goto - Preferences
    Goto - Download And Recording
Click or make sure the box is clicked under - Enable Web Downloading & Recording
I have the box clicked underneath for - on page for 7 seconds.

Once you have done that click ok.

You can then close out of Real Player if you want.

Open your Browser again, find the video you want, there should come a box up above the video that says "Download This Video".
Click on the "Download This Video" button. That should open open up the Real Play Download Manager.

You can play and delete the videos from the manager there.

I've tried that and the problem I encounter is that some videos can only be played using player. I can't find a way to convert the file into another format that can be used by most or all media players.

The best video converter I've used is Super.
There is a link to download it at the bottom of this page.
    http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

Not sure if that works with whatever Real saves them as.

I've had Super for about a year and half and even it couldn't convert the file because it didn't recognize the type.

It's a weird file form. Not an SWF or FLV, but functions like them. *scratches head*

Not sure, I used Real to download a youtube video.
It saved as flv like usual and was able to convert fine.
Must be the type of video you downloaded.

Here's a good one for the pros. I've tried everything I could think of after reading this thread and still came up with nothing.

I would like to download this .swf file:
    http://www.wedorama.com/v3spinner/

Next to freaking impossible. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how to get the ones you have to interact with. It seems like something records but never the whole thing.

I've tried your suggestions, but couldn't make heads or tails of the hex editor (it looked like a bunch of jiberish)... can you either tell me what hex editor you are using or tell me how to get this series of videos. Go to http://www.endtime.com/Videos2.aspx under the "select a category" drop down menu. I need "Understanding the Endtime Level 1". The source is "UTE1-01-01.flv" but I can't find out where it's getting it from.

    Hi,

I have been trying to download the swf files from

    http://tdf.sbs.com.au/tdf2008/

I have tried looking at the swf files in a hex editor. I have found the files in my firefox cache but they are reversed and appear to be corrupt half way through.

    Any help appreciated

    Dave

I've been using a program called WM Capture and for the most part, it works. The only problem is that it captures everything, including the video player the file is playing on. I haven't really explored with this program too much (My new computer has a bigger memory than the family one, but it has Vista, so I've been having some compatibility problems, which I am close to fixing), so I don't know if it will download the whole video or part of it.

Another program I found recently is Replay Media Catcher. It can get some NBC videos which are rttp based. The problem with this program is that it only downloads 75% of the video if you get the demo version. I believe this one can give you the link source to the file, but don't quote me.

Hi, I'm new to all of this (i'm 16yrs old) but I am trying to learn in depth about all of this downloading videos off of websites other than youtube and all of that.
I know how to download .swf flash movies and .flv videos, etc from websites like newgrounds.com and youtube.com, and websites like that, but i'm having extreme problems on trying to download videos from . When I go to a video on jackassworld I can't even find the url for the actual flash video file. Its so confusing for me, trying to find ways of downloading videos from Jackassworld. There has to be a way of downloading videos from them. They really like to use Javascript scripts :) lol.
I really want the video on ths website =

And I would REALLY love it if someone could help me to learn on how to find the actual url of the video on that website, so I can download it.

If you are reading this and you are thinking "why not just watch the video?...". Well my answer to that is that here in Australia, we have really slow internet and I cant be bothered watching extremely laggy videos, lol. I could just download the video and watch in from begining to end without lagg.

ANY Help would be MUCH appreciated :).
    From Hick3y :).

Have you tried using WM Recorder? This is a method I use a lot to get vids I want.

    1. Download the demo version of WM Recorder from here

    2. Install the program and then start it up.

    3. Wait for the program to configure the adapters (if you start playing the vid before this is done, it won't work right).

    4. Go to the page with your vid and wait for it to load.

    5. If WM Recorder recognizes the vid file, it will show the link in the last box on the program application, called the url box.

    6. Now you have two options:

    a. If the vid is less than five minutes long, you can wait for the program to finish and then locate the file by clicking view, right-click the file and find its location on your hard drive (usually it will be in the WM Recorder program file located in Programs)

    or

    b. Copy and paste the link into your browser and hit enter. You might be able to download the file this way too.

    Happy hunting! :)
