Downloading embedded video: .swf files

Posting cracks of commercial off the shelf software is pretty poor form, I know you wnat to help and thats great, but the vendor who wrote this application doesnt deserve to have their software given away for free by someone who doesnt have the rights to do so. This type of activity is illegal.

This is a public forum and should be treated as such.

I bought the program. It legally is mine. I legally am allowed to use it on any computer I choose. If, in the spirit of altruism, I feel like having other people utilize the program as well, I should be able to.

When you buy a car from a dealership it belongs to you, not the manufacturer. Saying I can't share a program I bought and legally own is like saying I can't share my car because Ford manufactured the car.

When you buy a car from Dealership, you only get one you can't keep popping back in and taking more cars for your friends.

They rock,although its a 2h 50 min concert. I used Jaksta ( www.jaksta.com) to get a copy, AOL uses RTMP protocol so this one should be pretty easy to get.

And your response to my analogy is weak, if my example was to show that they're using MY car.

By the way, I love that you don't object to people downloading copyrighted and otherwise "undownloadable" videos, yet the moment I share, in the spirit of altruism, a program that enables them to do so, you complain of my behaviour being of poor form.

At least I'm not out for people's wallets.

By the way, I also hold your views on copyrights, etc.

Those that don't have no idea what it was actually like to be able to let a friend borrow a PC video game or software suite and not have to go through the pain of cracking it.

For those that argue about profits of companies should be reminded that Linux, an open source and free software project, is maintained entirely for free and made available for free.

Out for ppls wallets, come on mate, that's the pot calling the kettle black. Mate the guys at Applian have written Replay and are entitled to sell it and make a living, they are protected by copyright laws and have an end user license agreement which protects their intellectual property from being misused. Your argument is that you buy one and everyone gets it, altruism its not, its stealing.

I also agree with your open source comment further on in this thread, so feel free to knock up some code which streams and saves vids, offer it as freeware and the world will love you for it.

Lets stop hijacking this thread and get it back on topic.
