    You definitely live somewhere else!!

Cgscott supplied all the info, not me.
Credit where credit is due..thank him.

Sad to say you are probably unhappy with the flac he has given you but you started it all by accusing a guy of helping people without testing his help which was stupid.
I don`t know why you done this, maybe out of frustration.
But without his input, although you might not like it, we would an awfull lot worse off.

Wee word of advice (again) "never bite the hand that feeds you"

Free time is valuable and I don`t know why he gives so much considering the shit he gets.

Anyway he`s tougher than me... I`m out of here

    Thsnkyou Phase123

I would quite happily fix all these boxes at a small fee plus p&p.

Sometimes i think it would be easier to give up.

I appreciate what you done earlier stepping in mate and hope to see you back here later as once this flash problem is out the way then we can get onto ftp and showing people what this box is capable of.

    Cheers

    Chris

Hi Phase123, sorry I really didn't mean to piss you off. I really appreciate ANY and ALL the help you have given me. It's just I was talking to Chris lastnight about this and PM'd me tonight in the midst of it all. I'm completely new to this game and I managed to update my own EuRo vox by reading the tutorials and such and all went fine. The D'ream is NO DREAM but more of a NIGHTMARE. Please don't take offence by my asking Chris for advice. I assure you no snub was intended.
    Kindest regards, Wizkid9

I have known Phase123 over the forums for a few years now. He has as much input into this sort of material as i do. That is why i thanked him earlier when i had to leave.

    Cheers Phase123

    Hey Wizkid9

You are not pissing me off.
Just a bit annoyed when I tried to help you asked him when he said he was tired.
    I was a newbie once.
It annoys me when people won`t search the forums.
    This topic has 34 pages!

Cgscott has posted a tutorial that has worked for most people.
I`ve read it and know it works.
If it does not then I`m almost positive it`s a mistake by the user.

    Good luck and Goodnight

    Hi cgscott,
A friend ask me to try and sort out his D******x 500c, I,m not very familiar with these boxes.
I would like to do it via null cable and just want to check that the last image works with ch***s irl and is there any other info i need before i start.
If image dosn`t work with ch***s could you tell me one that does via null cable.
    Thanks.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok first things first. You will need a program called dreamup. I will post it in this link for you.

    http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/download/DreamUP.zip

Then download this image. The null modem one. Save this to desktop.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/110539456/dwemptyautoroll.img.html

You need to plug the null from the box to pc.

With the dreambox switched off start up dreamup program.

Then untick use network box. Then click connect. Startup the dreambox.

It will connect. The flash box will then open. Click this it will ask for image. The image you downloaded open that. Then it will flash the image to your box.

When flashing the image it will ask you to do a flash erase click no.

when the image has down loaded connect the box back up.

    Scan using N*L Bruteforce

Reboot the box select SS1 and press the blue button

    Press ok on the Evovamd

Screen remains black for a couple of mins

    Hey Presto-----------------

    Put full trust in him

    cgscott is a legend

I dont know why I am even bothering to reply to your post but I just dont like to be called a liar. What advantage would it be to anyone for me to claim that I am in Ireland and realy be in the UK. I thought the idea of a forum was for people to help each other and to learn from other peoples expierences instead of doubting and disbeliving what people are telling you.
Its a pity that you had to buy a crossover cable for yourself because I could have made one for you F.O.C. and you could have picked it up from me, seen as how I also live in D.12. But in order to pick it up you would have had to meet me in The Sub tomorrow for lunch.

P.S. Watch out for the road resurfacing by Siac on Cromwellsfort Rd. for S.D.C.C. it started on Thursday.
All sent from a UK IP?
    Regards J.

not saying it will not work in Ireland i was saying people with a working image in england does not mean it will work in Ireland, as the person in england has no way of testing it over there so that's why we require feed back to help each other, we are all in the same boat but reading some posts certain people are beginning to sink it, so all chill out and help each other solve this problem, as we all rely on others to help us out

    cheers jay

This is just a quick message to tell everyone on the forum that if you follow the instructions and the new images that cgscott has made avaialable then you will not go wrong. i am all new to this and without his help and guidance i would still be at home now scratching my head trying to get my box working. He truly is a Legend cheers again cgscott.

Hi, I used the dwemptyautoroll.fw2 image - all worked well insofar as the new software worked fine on the box. Followed all instructions - rebooted, started Evovamd. Selected a channel (any channel), but the picture stayed black. Teletext and EPG were working fine -- just no picture.

In the end, I manually updated, using ftp, the keys.txt file with the latest keys, and hey presto, everything is now working.

So, question is, what did I do wrong? Should I have updated keys.txt first? Will autoroll work? Any pointers will be gratefully accepted.
