Dreambox 500T 500C Fixes here

can i ask how you you re scan to update channels. on the starview or EV box if there is a problem with a channel or you want to watch a ppv you have to either update channel or delete and manual scan the freq. But i have no idea on how to do it on the dreambox can anyone help with this- im sure its pretty simple. But i had enough trouble with my box and now its working again i dotn wanna do anything daft and muck it back up again

on the bigmaq (chatterbox, tcb.cc) tool bar there is a a DW Dream 2.1 image for Dreamboxes, this is an FTP image, does anyone know if there one for Null Modem, also does anybody knwo if the keys autoroll on that image?

 

Chris made the null modem version himself.

You could use the DW Dream 2.1 image but you`d have to manually ftp the nagrarom.
The null modem image supplied by Chris should work a treat.

A friend of mine has an identical problem with the same error massage. I have been trying to sort it for him. I tried the null route but it up loads flash loader and then gets no reply from dream box. I have tried the cross over cable route but the dream box does not regester as connected and I get the same error message as yourself. I decided to email the nice people at dream in Germany and they tell me it is a Hardware problem and NOT a software one . Their solution is to send it back to them in Germany so they can have a look at it. My mate has said in the bin is where it is going. I personally have spent a lot of time on this and now just want to belt it constantly with a hammer. I followed the tutorial from Chris to fix my own and it worked no problem so I think the guys in Germany may be right. Sorry if this makes matters worse for you but it may stop you wasting your time.

hey guys i flashed chris image to my box and worked a treat.
just wondering does it affect your box if you keep flashing images to the box, i just wanted to try a few other images to see what they had to offer but didnt want to risk screwing up my box.

anyone have any advice on this?
also any other good images out there that people are using?

flashed no probs (null)in belfast
im getting free to air
and tried the blue button trick
but still nothing ive been waiting 2 hours
any advice plz

 

Nothing will or seems to flash to my Dreambox ! When i hot connect nothing happens !

thanks for your info looks like my box will end up in the bin too, I bought it of someone on ebay who is no longer registered, probably because he was selling the dodgy boxes. thanks for your info though I will stop wasting my time on it. I would also like to thank phase123 for all his help, he is one helpful guy and also thanks to cgscott his info has taught me alot and I did manage to get a family member back up and running.

Right guys, very new to this and don't even know how to use forums! Lovely, eh? I need help....proper help.....not medical!

I have N*L Dublin and a Dreambox 500c. It has the Digital Worldz 2.0 image (if that's what its called)..

What do I do to get it working? Its just new. Please be patient if you can help. Not at all technical!

I have flashed a few boxes using both methods and they work.

hi gang having major problems with my dreambox 500c. seems to have just died, nothing i can do. remote wont work (green light not flashing) cant even get an image on the screen and i need to find my dreamboxes ip.
totally screwed i think, anyone with any ideas?

i was in the middle of flashing the gemini image when it just stopped so turned off the box and has been frozen ever since. ha knew i shouldnt have touched it.
