You`ll have to flash it using the null modem method now... see the post above

Use the null modem cable. No dreambox ip is neccessary. Use the null modem cable from A PC , not from a usb/laptop to serial.

    Welcome back Satlinksw

    Lucas2007.... previous post....
Unfortunately the null modem cable (rs232) can be wired different ways for differing applications http://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/info/RS-232_null_modem.html

Here`s how I believe it should be wired ...
    Pin 1 - Not Connected
Pin 2 - Goes to Pin 3 on the other end
    Pin 3 - Goes to Pin 2
    Pin 4 - Goes to Pin 6
    Pin 5 - Goes to Pin 5
    Pin 6 - Goes to Pin 4
    Pin 7 - Goes to Pin 8
    Pin 8 - Goes to Pin 7
    Pin 9 - Not Connected

    Ebay £3...

    Hope this helps

When you go to Maplins, get yourself a USB Serial Converter (30+EUR). It will allow you to connect your null-modem cable to your Dreambox via a standard USB connection. Download "DreamUP", download whatever image you desire, and then use DreamUP to flash it to your box. Dreamup will automatically invade and set your IP.

    Hi
Have same problem. Reloaded software following recent difficulties with NTL in Dublin. Had everything working for about a week. However I am now losing some channels - music - film four +1 etc. It is all a real pain!

i got a dreambox 500c from my mate to fix and have loaded several of the dw images with null cable but cannot get it to autoroll. i followed cgscott's tutorial and used his working image. i scanned with brute and picked up 121 tv channels which is nearly all of them in dublin on ntl but can only view the fta channels. i have also tried rebooting and restarting evocam 212 but no joy, do i have to ftp the updated roms as well? appreciate any help, thanks

Satlinksw - i'll politely request (only once) that you do not edit/use thread titles to pimp toolbars etc etc.

Switch to a working channel, go to manual scan, enable network search ONIT BAT, start the scan.

Try scanning your local area NTL cable ie instead of using "Bruteforce"
