    File Transfer Protocol. It's used to connect to servers for file transfer and is used via lan also to connect to devices such as xbox, dreambox, dbox etc.

    I use flashfxp but there's others out there and if you're flashing it and have no idea what to do start with dreamup.

    Install flashfxp : http://www.afterdawn.com/software/network_software/ftp_software/flashfxp.cfm

    Press menu on the dreambox go to setup and select expert setup, communication then find what the ip is (if dchp is on it must be plugged into a computer before you enter the menu to calculate it otherwise make your own by turning it off)

    Open flashfxp and click the lightning icon in the top corner (quick connect):

    Server or url = (ip of dreambox)

    Username = root

    Password = dreambox

    Drag the 3 hypercam files into var/bin

    Right click on each file and pick attributes and type 755 into the boxes.

    Go back to black screen on dreambox and press blue and select tuxbox commander

    Go to var/bin and execute the hypercam_1.06 file

    Exit and save then wait on a blank channel for 2 minutes then change the channel, if it isn't working just keep leaving it on a blank channel for 2 minutes and changing it until it works.

    If you unplug the box you will have to repeat the last 2 steps to get your channels again.

    Connect the dreambox via lan cable then if it doesn't work turn dchp off on the dreambox in the connections and put your dreambox ip as 192.168.0.3 then save and restart connection on dreambox.

    Try connecting with 192.168.0.3

    Try 192.168.0.3 on the dreambox with dchp off then save and restart the dreambox. Then connect (I usually have the port on 21 and it works even though the box says 80)

    If it fails again turn dchp on in the dreambox settings then save and restart the dreambox and go in to check the ip of the box again (it should have an automatically assigned ip address that will work.

    Your internet connection might be interfering with it also so try temporarily disabling the internet if it keeps failing no matter what then enable it and post back.

    if it stayed the same windows probably isn't picking it up properly make sure it's in your network list.

    If you have network enabled on the dreambox and still nothing then it needs a crossover
