Dreambox PVR 600T Help Required MMDS Cork

I bought a dreambox 600 T last week and flashed Gemini 4.10 (cuertsy of Jimme).I am connected to Ch*r*s.
I still need the terrestrial.xlm file.
I'm stuck at the moment because although I was able to flash through a null modem cable I cannot now load the neccessary keys.
First i don't know how to connect dreambox to internet.Do you go through the PC and do you need some software for this.
What software is used for dreambox to communicate with PC.
I've only got a dial up modem so how does this work to connect PC and dreambox.I do not have a router.
Do you need a dreambox keyboard for anything?
Does dreambox have to be connected to TV when loading keys?
Lots of questions I know but I read loads of forums and can not find answers to these.

you dony need to load keys they will autoupdate if you scanned and found chan list and thry wont update go to special events on the list and if thats chan is working you are on the erong cam setting thats why it wont update so change the cam your on

 

There are no camd's (emu), keys and rom files included in a fresh 4.10 gemini.
If you didn't get a backup gemini image from someone you have to install all that things by yourself.
The camd's can be installed via online addon or via ftp.
Keys and rom files have to be uploaded to the box via ftp anyway.

MGB do you know where I'd get terrestrial.xlm file.
Am I stuck if I've only got a dial up modem.
This means I can't connect dream box to the net.Right?
Which is why you say you can use FTP?
I got a router/switch/ by the way but now my network card starts flashing on and off when I plug the ethernet cable into it.
I'm having another rattle off it at the weekend so hopefully I'll make progress.
I'm thinking of bringing it to a house with broadband so I can connect dreambox and pc to the net.
Advise to any newbie is this is not as easy as it seems(or maybe its just me).
I've had the yolk 3 weeks or more and its still not working.
Have spent about 15 hours on the net reading up as well.
Thats why im glad I see MGB 17 writing as I've seen you sort a lot of problems out.I've seen you on digitalworld as well.
Do you need to join filesharing site to get dreambox working?

The easiest thing would be to flash a backup image for a dream600 from the digitalworlds download section.
If you want to get your current image working you have to install a camd via online addon or via offline addon and uploaded camd package at the tmp folder. You can get the installation packages from the IHAD forum and some other places. Beside that you have to upload the magic files to the right folders at the box.
A terrestrial file is not necessarily needed. You can always do a manual scan via default frequency and enabled Network search, ONIT and BAT.

 

MGB17 Do you recommend any particular backup image?
I'm going to join that now.
Will it work straight off without any addons or uploads etc.

Just thought of another thing the image i need is for mmds cork Ch*r*s.How are you supposed to find that amonst all the images.

A image doesn't care about the provider.
You need the right tuner, the right frequencies for scanning and the right au keys for the installed camd (au).

 

If youre still there MGB Im rooting around digitalworlds mow for an image but only 20 in Dreambox 600 PVR series and none are backups.
Any ideas which one?

MGB...if youre still there.I loaded a lot of files from digitalzworld yesterday but when I got home my USB stick was corrupted to I loaded the mr dude noob 1.0.2 image from my dial up modem.It took 2 hours to download.Then when I was unzipping winzip said "invalid archive".It suggested downloading again as there might have been a problem with noise.Anyway went to the local libary today instead and downloaded in about 3 minates.Flashed the image any hour ago and stuck in on the telly but it wont find any channels.
Do I have to use dreamedit to load some softcam key or terrestrial.xlm or what?

Another thing is I cant find the blue button menu on this image.I think you said previously on another thread that you need to change from common interface to mgcamd.Any ideas how you do this without the blue button menu

 

You have to select a camd at a gemini image.
A emu should be active per default in the noob image.

 

Where would I get a camd from gemini?Am emu is another word for camd.Right?
Where do is see these emu's/camd?

I read in previos thread where you said you can change camd by using the arrow keys.IE to change from common interface to mgcamd.BUT I dont have blue button menu.Previous gemini 4.10 image did not allow me to change common interface.

Default for the noob image is evocamd.
If you press the blue button at your remote the menue should open.
If there is a other menue active you have to close that other menue first.

 

MGB ..I didn't bother going to the pub ..went back fiddling with dreambox and found the blue button menu just as you said.However evocamd while being the default camd does not hold the right keys for me.Im on CH*R*S mmds and the keys are for CH*R*S cable.

This is probably why mr dude said the image was for a 600C.
Checked the other 6 camds and none of the have the keys for ch*r*s mmds.
I also did autoscan just in case.

To me it looks like I need to get communication between my pc and dreambox going so I can FTP(have not done it before).
I have got a windows 98 old dektop with rs232 port which I could flash from but network card not working with it I think.
Can not comunicate with it switch light does not come on.
When i change to my laptop which runs windows vista ultimate the light on the switch comes on.Also theres no pinging (ms dos)avialable on vista so I have to see can I partion hard drive to load XP.I have the XP reload dvd.

I got the switch as Ive got no crossover ethernet cable.

One other thing when I reboot a message come sup saying
Play
"This directory does not contain anyhting playable."
Any idea what this is? Hope it wouldn't trip me up later!
So if you can point me to place for right keys please.

First question did you get the channel scan working.
It makes no sense to fiddle with the emus/camd's if there is no valid channel tuned in.

 

No channel scan is not working.When I go to Automatic Transponder Scan my first option is Ch*r*s MMDS(ie).Nothing back from this.
When I try Chotus MMDS BF(ie) the same happens.All zeros.
SNR jumps a,round the place but AGC and BER do not budge.
I thought this was because of the wrong camd.

I have no frequencies to go and no a manual scan.

I am currently trying to get laptop to talk to pc.You can ping in vista by the way.Im unsure of what address to give to dreambox and does DHCP have to be diabled at the dreambox and the pc network card.
No joy so far.
Another on efor you Im on dial up with cale from phone line now going to laoptop.Can dreambox download (when communicating properly) through switch and onto the net.ie can I use the dreambox from addons with that setup or do you need a broadband network going to the pc.
