When I do an Automatic Scan the message is "All known transponders have been tried, but no lock was possible.Verify antenna cable-setup or try another satellite/network."
Forget what i said previously about all zeros, this refered to a manual scan I tried at 2.5 GHz.

But mesages were the same with gemini 4.10 image.
I know my signal is good as I watch sky one on it when it is not connected to the dreambox, good picture too.
I am connecting mmds connection to top right hand side of box as you look at the back of it.It is marked IN.

I do not diasble 5 Volts.
    Cheers

Do you own a working mmds aerial?
In Cork is either chorus mmds or chorus cable possible.
The dvb-t tuner is only working for chorus mmds.
The channel scan has no affiliation to the camd's.

    Yeah.I have a working MMDS aerial.Limited channels.
In Cork both MMDS and cable are possible .Mostly cable in the city.
MMDS in the countryside.I researched before buying Dreambox PVR 600T.
Any solution for channel scan?Should it pick up channels after just flashing the noob image.

    Cheers

Normally the scan via chorus mmds should work.
Maybe you own a stone old aerial from a analogue subscription.
Go to manual scan and try 234000 for the frequency, 64qam for constellation, 8 MHz for the bandwitdth and 8k for transmission mode.
5v should be ticked for disabled.
Let all other options at auto.
If you get no lock try 682000 for the frequency.

Will do that now.I did own an old analogue one but got it upgraded.New downconverter I think was put in.
There is a tree in my way slightly means some of the free channels are better than others.Dont know does this affect scanning.
    Cheers.Will report back .

MGB, Tried those settings and frequencies but no joy.
Just to confirm my signal works with a connection through to the old mmds boxes or some channels you get by just tuning in the telly.
This means my signal is there and good so Im lost for solution.
When I take the cable out from mmds box I plug it into dreambox with adapter connection.Coaxial cable from mmds aerial to dreambox connection(whatever the name for it is)Its female on the dreambox anyway.
Does the error message on power up mean anything to you?
    Flawed out from it.
    Thanks again.

If there are no channels stored you get such a message.
Use the cable from before your decoder box and connect it to the dreambox input. Don't mix it up with the power inserter.

I am using the cable coming directly from the mmds aerial.
I dont think I got this message the first time I booted up.

I think it can be one of two things
    1.My connecton may be faulty(unlikely)
Adapter connection I mean. The one that goes from dreambox to my aerial cable.
    2.Dreambox problem.

    More questions.
Should I always have 5 Volts disabled for both manual and auto scan.

In manual scan do you select any of the bottom items,Use ONIT,Use Bat,Network search.
    Should I reflash?

This yolk is wearing me down.
    Thanks

The cable comes down from the aerial and then there is first a power inserter box which feed the aerial with power via the antenna cable.
You have to connect the TV output side of the power inserter to the dreambox input. The power plug of the inserter must be plugged in.
If you subscribed to a scrambled analogue channel there is next a decoder box. If you subscribed to the basic package there is no decoder box.
The 5v are for a active dvb-t antenna and you don't own one.

    MGB... YOU ARE A LEGEND.
Got your reply about 11.30 and my ears pricked.Went back to TV and tried what you said and hey presto.
Don't understand how I could see the 'free' channels without going through power inserter.I remember disconnecting from this as it had an intermittent fault where the picture would get fuzzy if the cable was moved.Bad connection somewhere I suppose. So was suprised when I didn't need it back then.
So when I went back last night I scanned a few times and I had success.
I created some bouquets..Do you lose them if you scan again and should I back up anything?
Probably shouln't mess with it now!!!
I can't even remember did I disable 5V. I suppose I must have if its working..
Do you put box on standy by at night or do you power off?
Thanks very much ..I was about to give up on it.

Hi... can somebody please help me...
I have a Dreambox 600T to pick up ch0r$ mmds. I have the gemini 4.3 image with mgcamd 1.28 installed. I had the working keys (entered manually in SoftCam.Key) about two weeks ago but they were changed and I cannot find the latest ones since.. I want to install the autoroll facility on the box. I have been advised by certain people to install the following files into the var/keys folder

    SoftCam.Key
    AutoRoll.Key
    Rom7.bin
    Rom10.bin
    Rom11.bin

I found the files in different places. the rom files I found by installing the bigmaq toolbar and downloading them from there...but nothing works... I can only get rte1...the rest are scrambled. Can anybody send me these files.. or at least tell me (through a PM) where I can download the right ones.. I am tearing my hair out.

Also are the files listed above spelt correctly with the right cases etc.??
    Thanks,

You need patched nagrarom7.bin and so on.

Hi...Yes I have what I think are the patched ones. I downloaded
    nagrarom7.bin, nagrarom10.bin, nagrarom11.bin from the chatterbox.cc toolbar...Are these the rights ones?
I placed these into the vay/keys folder alongside Softcam.Key and AutoRoll.Key, I changed to a scrambled channel for a few mintues but nothing happened.
I renamed them to the Rom7.bin..etc. after that as a few postings named them as that but still no joy.
Should there be any other files in the folder for mgcamd to work and should the roms be in a different folder i.e. nagra_roms ?
How do I know that I even have the right AutoRoll.Key file?
    Thanks.

Reboot the dreambox and check if the nagrarom files are still there.

    Hi mgb17,

I flashed the 600PVR from scratch again and followed your instructions from another thread as follows:-

Install a gemini image for dream 600 box.
Install mgcamd and mgcamd config files via online addon.
    Upload terrestrial.xml to var/etc and the dbox2 magic files to var/keys .
    reboot the box.
Go to automatic scan and start a channel scan.
Go to blue pannel and enable mgcamd.

The only difference is that I didn't need the terrestrial.xml file as I already had scanned freq 234000 so I have a few unscrambled channels i.e. rte2 and tv3 to play with.
I uploaded the magic files that I found on the techwatch.com forum into the var/keys folder and then overwrote rom7, rom10 and rom11 with the latest ones that I found on the chatterbox.cc toolbar.
Regarding mgcamd I uploaded v1.28 to the tmp/ftp/in folder and installed manually through the blue panel as I have no internet access.

I restarted the box and still no joy.. How long does autoroll take?. Also does installing the mgcamd manually include all necessary config files?

Hope you can shed some light.

    Thanks again.

BTW... From your last question I rebooted and yes the nagraroms still remain.

Upload the nagrarom files to the directory usr/scce

Thanks very much mgb17... that has worked perfectly. Appreciate all your help. Don't know what I would have done..

Just noticed something else on my 600PVR - the volume is very low??. I turn it up fully to hear. You can't hear anything at half mast? Can I configure the box to increase this in any way??
