drive does not recognize cd or dvd

    Hey, I really need help. I just tried burning a dvd with Nero and it could not recognize the blank dvd. I thought i was using the wrong type of media so I switched and it still did not work. I put in a dvd to see if it would play. It did not. It doesn't show anything is wrong with the drive but i tried to uninstall and it still showed no problems. I am very slow when it comes to computers and this is all new to me. Please help. I have a Gateway CX2615 notebook and my burner is HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA 4082N

    no worries mods would of spotted it and teleported it to the right place - no probs...

    they police the site very well, they may not speak much but there all around!
