drive will not read dvd-rs

    Hi
    Can anyone help my drive on my my laptop used to read any dvd-r discs now suddenly it wont read them and when i try to burn a film it comes up with a box say it can on burn the compilation on to this disc it reads cdrs but not dvd-r its driving me mad please help
    my drive is HL-DT-ST dvdram GSA-4082n

    The only thing I can think of except the physical condition of the drive is you may need a driver update. Try Version Tracker Pro, it finds, updates, and installs all your drivers.
