All of a sudden, my samsung dvd writer (TS-H552B) has stopped recognising cd-r media. I succesfully burned a cd and then tried again and nothing except a message telling me to put in a cd. It will still play my proprietary audio cds, and will read play and write to dvd (incldvd-r) using roxio/dvdxcopy etc. It will not however recognise any cdrin the drive. I have closed clonecd (for the hide cdr media facility) and have tried using various read/burn progs, and even updated the firmware (just now) to version 8 but all to no avail. Any ideas?

This is probably a dumb question, but did you reboot during this process?

Some times it is, but unfortunately not in your case. Good luck. A tech guru should be along soon.
