    well..shouldnt i not disable those seeing how i am using the COM ports??

    ARGH!! I AM SO P*SSED RIGHT NOW!!! i just spent hours of searching and downloading to get my friggen video card back up and no freaking luck!! i have nooo clue what to do! should i just install Windows 98 and no SE or what?

    stay with se as better than fe. what driver are you trying to use for vide?. is that a nvidia card or diamond card?

    diamond i think...could be nvidia..thats what it says when i use Everest....Video (w.e) = NVidia RIVA TNT (Diamond Viper V550)

    THANK YOU DDP!!! I LOVE YOU IN A TOTALLY NON GAY WAY! haha yeah. and well. now all i need is to get my modem back up.. lol i think its drivers. i think it could possibly be a Harmonics something or other.

    1 down & 1 to go. modem diagnostic works but no dial tone, correct? is cord in correct jack? try another cord. is it possible modem took a hit & blew a component causing the no dial tone? do you have dial tone when checking thru handset while modem is wired to telephone jack?

    well my phone isnt wired to the same jack as my modem. and i know the jack works ive tested it. and umm not to bug lol but i think i may have found the drivers. but my [bold]Soundcard[/bold] needs drivers too.. lol i think i found them at www.driverguide.com but not sure...itsa

    i've found on a few duff modems when connected to phone but not dialling out that there was no dial tone on handset. do you have dial tone when modem connected to wall jack?

    no. like...everything says my modem is there...just windows doesnt pick it up...like with Everest..even diagnostics says theres a modem there.

    than windows sees the card. so problem is no dial tone, correct?

    hmm probably then..could the jack in the modem just be fried? or could the problem actually be no dial tone?

    a component like a resistor could be fried(come across that a few times) on the modem or a bad telephone cable is bad.

    okay i looked into it more. then i realized. i dont think i have a rockwell. im pretty sure now to have a Harmonics HCF 56k. so i found the drivers for that and ill letcha know. but i did get my sound card up :p shes a beaut.

    hah ayeah my comp is up and running on the net. i get illegal errors and script errors. but that will soon change. :p
