drives

    i'd like to give a big thanks to ddp i fixed my computer by switching the ide drives but im only 14 yrs old and on my dads computer it froze so i had to reboot but now all that boots are the cd drives.

    does the the motherboard see the hd??

    yes it does its been working for 4 years.

    so what error does it give when booting & what windows version??

    all it does it turn on the cd drives and nothing else so the moitor is not on either.it happened when i was checking my e-mail then it froze.

    reseat both the data & drive cables to that drive & the motherboard. when computer powered up, take a tube(like a stethescope) to the drive to see if can hear the motor spinning.
