@fuxorated That's a stuck pixel, not a dead pixel, there is a high chance of being able to fix that with a flashng RGB video if you can find one to download anywhere.
http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor Don't know how well it'd work on a DS though... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuck_pixel Oh, and it looks like I've only got stuck pixels, not dead ones. My mistake.
If it was just a problem with overtightening screws, they might've pinpointed a single factory and corrected the issue.
hmm...I wonder how many factories have been over tightening it? and when do think it would be safe for me to get a ds lite?
how much does warranty usually cost if you get it from the store? i dont want to be shipping my ds to nintendo(i dont think ill be able to keep apart from my ds that long)
Thing is, if Nintendo recognizes it as a manufacturer defect and the crack appears on your DS Lite within 30 days, you should be able to just bring it right back to the store you bought it from. The 30 day warrantee should be enough time for it to show up.
i hope it is, because i just read that the ratio of broken to unbroken is a lot higher than nintendo said(0.02% out of all ds lites sold which is about 4000)
Think of it this way. When you buy a car, you don't want anyone to mess up the paint right? Same thing applies to the DS Lite. It's supposed to look nice, and having a cracked hinge takes away from that. It makes others think that you haven't taken care of it, which is why so many people are upset about it. That, and some people are just perfectionists.
