I have an hp omen gaming laptop. It has a window 10 ssd and I removed the optical drive to install a kubuntu hdd. I have enabled legacy boot mode from BIOS. To load kubuntu, I must press esc after the laptop is opened, or else windows boots up.

I wanna know my options. Can I do sth to make the hdd load first to agrub menu including the windows drive?

Can I maybe have the windows hdd drive have sth similar to grub and choose the linux hdd from there?

Is the current configuration the only or best option?

    Any other ideas?

This is a linux and windows question as well, bit I didn't know where else to post it. Maybe there are forums more suitable to post this post to?
