Dual layer discs

    arniebear gave you the best method for setting the booktype to dvd-rom with your litey. Here's another link to the booktype utility http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=83441 there is also a link to a usage guide on that page.

    Ahha....I didn't realize you do the burner w/o having to do the burning software as well.
    The Ridata DVD+R DL disc I burned previously [bold]will[/bold] play in a different standalone I tried it on so hopefully MY standalone doesn't just have a problem playing/accepting dual layer burned disks (in which case booktype/bitsetting may not do me any good since I haven't had problems playing any other dvd's except DL's.)

    I would still booktype your dvd+r DL discs to dvd-rom for added insurance. Dvd-rom is the most compatable format and with the lite-on booktype utility it will automatically booktype all your dvd+r media to dvd-rom unless you change it back. Set it and forget it.
