Hey, i have a hp pavilion a300n and the graphics are integrated, i installed a video card in attempt to have a dual monitor system running. when i put in the video card it disabled my integrated graphics, how would i configure the computer to read both at the same time? i went through numerous forums that stated to go in the display properties, and change setting to dual monitors/expand desktop, but i dont have that option...can some one please help...

I dont think you can have the onboard video card and you other video card vorking at the sasme time.

My understanding is whenever you install a video card it automatically disables the onboard video. If you want to use dual monitors you will have to get a video card with two outputs.

I concur, I would just get a nice video card with dual DVI out for nice expandablity (even if you don't have two DVI monitors now). If you really want, you could just buy a cheap second video card to make it dual monitor, which is what I did. I have an ATI AIW 8500DV and I bought a S3 Virge video card to have dual monitors and it works great (except the fact that I can't have both my TV working on my card and have dual monitors at the same time). You can probably find a cheap PCI video card for under 30 bucks.

A lot of...actually most descent cards today will have dual outputs, most of them will have 1 vga and i dvi. Most of those will also include a dvi to vga adapter so you can use 2 vga monitors.
