Posted previously regarding burning problems. As a result I got a new one: TSSTcorpDVD+-RW TS-H553A Firmware Version: DE04

I know this sounds a lttle dumb, but I'm not an expert by any means. What manufacturer is TSST an abbreviation for? Trying to find new firmware for it, if it exists.

Also, I bought some Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+Rs. Can I burn them at 8x speed without getting errors or should I stick with half the burn speed (4x). Any suggestions?

    TSST is Toshiba/Samsung.

You could try burning at 8X and then test the disk quality.

Just to add TSST stands for Toshiba-Samsung.

You should be fine burning the TY's a t 8x. I don't burn them any lower than that.
