DOES ANYONE KNOW MUCH ABOUT MODDING XBOX WITH DUO2 OR SIMULAR CHIPS AS IM ABOUT TO UNDERTAKE MY FIRST INSTALL AND IV'E BEEN READING UP ABOUT IT, IVE GOT A FEW Q?1. WILL MODCHIPS SUCH AS DUO 2 WORK AFTER INSTALL WITHOUT FLASHING(PLAY IMPORT BACKUPS ETC ON CROMWELL BIOS)2.DO I NEED TO PUT DASHBOARD FEATURES SUCH AS AVALAUNCH OR EVOX 3.WHAT IS THE EASY'ST CHIP TO INSTALL FOR A BEGINNER AND CHEAP? IV'E A FEW X BOX'S OF MY OWN WHAT I WANT TO MOD I KNOW WHAT VERSIONS THEY ARE JST NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SOFTWARE ECT IVE GOT A DUO 2 IN MY FIRST X BOX WITH AVALAUNCH DASH AND EVOX SOFT AND HAVN'T HAD ANY PROBS WITH THAT ITS BEEN GREAT SO I WAS THINKING OF DOING THE OTHERS THE SAME CAN YOU GIVE A LEARNER SOM ADVISE PLEASE P.S IS THE CROMWELL SOFT ON THE CHIP GOT THINGS SUCH AS AVAL DASH AND MEDIA CAPABILITIES
DUOX2 is an awesome chip for the price and gets the job done you will have to flash a hacked bios to play any import/back-ups the Cromwell bios that is pre-flash is just a flashbios so you can flash the hacked bios...go here to find out what bios you need http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/208817 go there..pm me if your confused
thanks m8 you hav jst saved my life i cant believe how much info their is on this after spending days trying to find out what the software side of chipping was all about ,i havnt had a chance to look indepth at the info you suggested but will no doubt b bak intouch as im not the most computer illiterate person on the plannet.i have a m8 who has been messing about putting different skins and dashboards on peoples x box's so im gunna have a look at what he's doing aswell as reading the link you gave me,may'b i will b able do fig it myself and do it from the disk which would defo b easier for me.will keep you posted on how it goes.p.s if u get sick of my Q? jst let me know .pps the chips iv'e orderd are the white duo x2 ive got a green one in my xbox with emulators aval..dash xbmc dvd region free player and loads more and love it had no probs at all
ive got my duox2 white modchip it has two bios settings 1 with cromwell evox v1.6 and other evox 1.6 so can i just solder it in and turn on xbox and play backups then instal softmod like aval.. dash and dvd 2 xbox mmc e.t.c or do i hav to flash before turning it on?????????????????????????????the x box im trying to mod ive jst found out as i opend it is a v1.6 arrrrrrg!! lucky i got the extra circuit board with my chip it came with the 1.6 rebuild board aswell thank god only now im terrified to attempt it i was only prepaired for the norm helllp..cant find pic diagrames for 1.6 duox2 white chip with extra board can only find lpc rebuild pics that dont feature the little blue board that came with chip for 1.6 install can u help at all im in a bit of a hurry and not to mention a bit of a pickle ..thanks again m8 u da man!!!
if it comes preflashed with the bios then you should be able to pop AID 3.0 in and install whatever dashboard you want
what is it and where can i get it .what will happen if i finnish putting chip in and just turn it on with the bios switch to the left,or right for that matter. cos im ready to power up right now , but i await your reply first.will i b able to play backups without instal'n anything for now,if yes then a m8 of mine is going to put new bios and skins,programms etc on it in 2 days time may b earlier. pls let me know asap.yours most gratefully thanks loads...bootboy..
you wont have a dashboard but it will probably boot back-ups most likely...search Torrent sites for AID 3.0
having complete heart attack please heeeeeellllp! i turned on and three times it turned on and off then permenet but did not display anything onscreen hav i done something wrong ?pls say no. and what do i do about it .ps had a look for aid3.0 how will that work for me and given my current situation is their a way of putting evo x or something onto chip/bios with cd rom as ive found out my either cable needs ahub or i need to buy differewnt cable (link)i think. definatly gutted now need a solution fast m8 .sorry for pestering you but you seem to have all the answers (clued up) wish i knew the score .they say trial and error jst dnt like errors much ha! ha!
are v 1.6's always sh*%!T ive jst tonight opend my m8s crystal and gues what another 1.6 ,,,for god's sake give me a break. anyhow this time istall with 1.6 lpc rebuild board and ta! da! it starts up in normal xbox mode what is up with this.are other versions as difficult as this or ams i just realy lucky . ha! ha!

turns out they wre inst ok but chips wer duds clones from modchip.com they cost 13 dollers each i used my cr card with visa protection do u think i will get my money back.ps i got two duo 2 chips from mr chips and modded box ok cheers for ur help.
