dvd audio

    hello all

    not to sure if this is in the right section

    im after a free software that i can extract music files from a music dvd.

    got a few live concerts on dvd and would love to have them as mp3's on my pc

    is there such a software?

    Please keep in mind the vast majority of concert DVD's are a cheap ripoff, with the Audio often in Dolby Digital stereo only.
    This is a perceptual codec, and has thrown away 11/12 of the original data (assuming it started out as CD quality).
    Extracting this is only part of the fight, as you will need to then turn it back into PCM - which will not recover the lost data, and then recompress to the even worse MP3 format, compressing already heavily compressed audio.
    The quality loss is going to be very audible.
