I've been having "dirty or damaged disc" problems with a few DVD's i've backedup. I've tried a few different types of media (DVD-R + DVD+R) and had problems with both. I have a new xbox(V1.6 i believe , not to sure which DVD drive is in it) but was curious which Media worked best for everyone else?

    Thanks in Advance!

with that you should be able to determine what drive you have.

Being a 1.6 though, you either have a Phillips or the new Hitachi. I dunno where I put the pics for the Hitachi, if I find em, I'll post em. But from what I can remember, it looks like the Thompson.

DDE's can be from a number of things, not just your media. Some games have "fixes" for them.

Media, the Phillips should have no probs reading -R's. Try to get some Ritek G04's (4x) or G05's (8x), burn at 1 or 2x and see what happens.

The Phillips drive does well with Ritek G04's and Maxell Dvd-R 4X(yellow Coated)......they work great.
