I've had a Dell Dimension E510 for about 6 years and the burner stopped working. It no longer recognizes that an empty DVD-R is in it. I have to open and close the tray a few times for DVD Decrypter/Nero to recognize that there is a blank media in there. However, the burning process doesn't go pass 1%.

    Help!! What should I do??

    Thank you!!

try cleaning the laser lens of the drive or just get a new drive.

Thanks for the fast reply! I'll try and clean the laser lens first.

Do you have any suggestions on which drive to get? And which one would be easiest to work with: Internal or External burner?

    Thank you again!
